Principles of Bible Study
In part one of our Bible Study series, we discussed the foundational idea that we need to approach the Bible first and foremost as a book that tells us about God, not about ourselves. This week in part two, Kathleen will build on that foundation to review a key practice of Bible study—one of exegesis (getting understanding out of scripture) rather than eisegesis (inserting meaning into scripture).
Kathleen and her family currently live near Cincinnati, Ohio. She is deeply invested in her one cup of coffee a day, as evidenced by the fact that she microwaves it at least 4-5 times, and loves a good book analysis with her five year old on the way to school. Check out her Substack on marriage, motherhood, Christian living, and trying to be our best selves.
